Katieanne hails from a small place called Buckie on the North East coast of Scotland. A small town girl with big dreams, she started dancing at the age of 9 and began to discover and love many different styles including line dance, waltz, swing, latin & ballroom. With her determination to perform and travel she joined the competition circuit, leading her to compete both within the UK and internationally. At age 15, along with her younger sister Claire, she won the World Title ‘Junior Duos’ at UCWDC in Nashville, Tennessee. From then on she continued to win British, European and World class titles as a solo dancer with CWDC and Masters In Line, qualifying her to compete in the top category – Division 1 Allstars. This fuelled her determination to aim for a career in performing arts, and she soon gained her place to train professionally at Edinburgh’s Telford College – The Centre for Professional Dance Training. After concentrating on ballet, jazz, contemporary, tap and musical theatre, she graduated in 2009 with a BA(Hons) degree in Dance.
She made her professional debut as a dancer in ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ at Eden Court Theatre, then understudying Belle in ‘Beauty & the Beast’. She continued her career performing in prestigious venues such as The Cafe de Paris in London and the historic Prestionfield House in Edinburgh during the famous ‘A Taste of Scotland’ show. A role in ‘The Murray Grant Dancers’ enabled her to perform in the high-end corporate entertainment scene all over the UK, as well as to audiences of tens of thousands at festivals such as ‘The 80’s REWIND’ at Scone Palace. Katieanne has performed around the world, onboard the Galaxy Cruise ship, as well as being a resident dancer for internationally-acclaimed pipe-rock band ‘Bags of Rock’. Television credits include Bollywood hit movie ‘Masuam’, ITV2 Trailer ‘The Only Way is Essex Music Video’, BBC Crime Drama ‘Case Histories’ and Hollywood movie ‘Hitman -Agent 47’.
After being headhunted for a choreographer’s job in Asia, she relocated to Singapore to progress her career and is thrilled to be able to say she worked for 2 of the leading lifestyle and entertainment companies –‘Lifebrandz’ and ‘The Quayside Group’ – taking on managerial roles in both companies. Her invaluable time spent working full time 2012-2014 in Clarke Quay (Singapore’s Entertainment Capital) with both of these companies not only enabled her to develop and attain managerial skills, operations, marketing, events and public relations, but also gave her first hand experience and exposure to different sectors of the industry. Katieanne’s responsibilities over those years required working closely with well esteemed entertainers/musicians/bands/DJ’s and directors as well as liaising with the media, and reporting daily to the company’s CEO.
Katieanne’s favourite highlights in Asia include filming a documentary alongside renowned TV personality ‘Jamie Yeo’, being invited to join a judging panel for auditioning well-known bands, and also being interviewed for a China TV Station – telecasting to an audience of 32 million viewers.
Having claimed that her time in Singapore was the “best years of her life” she decided to return to the UK to face a new challenge and embark upon an exciting new venture: founding her own company ‘KDB Vision’ which will have some very exciting updates coming soon!
Current roles include working for ‘PDF Productions’, a position at ‘The MGA Academy of Performing Arts’ and assisting with ‘Beyond Broadway Productions’.
With her dedication, ambition and love for performing arts Katieanne continues to flourish in the industry and vows to travel the rest of the world.
